Vistaria, officially the Republic of Vistaria, is a self-declared state bordering the Polish city of Kraków. We declared our independence as a sovereign state in November 2025.
Location
Our territory includes a section of the wild banks of the Wisła river, bordering the Płaszów suburb in Kraków. We also have an extraordinary territory bordering the Hokorian State and the British city of Leeds.
Governance
The Government of the Republic of Vistaria is the governing authority of the republic, led by the Prime Minister. We also have an elected President, who is responsible for ceremonial and constitutional affairs.
The people are represented by the National Assembly, consisting of elected Assembly Members. The Assembly is also responsible for legislating and holding the Government to account.
Justice is overseen by the National Courts, with the Constitutional Court being the highest court in the republic. The Combined Criminal and Civil Court is responsible for other judicial and legal affairs.
Legal status
The Republic of Vistaria is a real nation under the 1933 Montevideo Convention, which says that states must have a permanent population, defined territory, government and the capacity to enter into relations with the other states.
Vistaria posesses all of these, though our independence is not acknowledged by the Polish government and we are not recognised by any member of the United Nations.
Citizenship
Vistarian citizenship is the legal status of all Vistarians, entitling them to participate in our democracy and fully considering them a part of our community of Vistarians across the world.
Any individual may apply to the President to become a Vistarian citizen, even if they have no existing links to Vistaria, though existing links through birth, marriage and residence in the city of Kraków automatically entitle someone to register as a Vistarian citizen.
